Some interesting pictures I took recently. I would love some feedback please.
Many of us have a digital camera and wish we knew just a little bit more about how to use it. We want to feel confident that the photos we take will turn out good enough to keep and share. Local Sutton photographers Neil Kinnear and Lesley Chung guide you through the basics of photography and digital cameras using both conceptual and practical exercises. This blog will be a collection of the information, photos, exercises, links, tools and more that we discuss in the class.

My favourite of the three photos is the top one with the sweeping arc of the structure. Because you've kept the whole thing in focus using deep depth of field, it in itself becomes the subject. The eye follows it across the frame. For possible improvement, I might suggest eliminating even more of the background and straightening the tilted verticals. With verticals, perspective often makes it impossible to make them parallel. In that case, I would use the one closest to the centre of the frame as the guide and have the outer ones converge inwards.
ReplyDeleteThe wooden walkway photo has nice textures and colours but lacks a well defined subject, although the walkway itself is obviously the subject, if you understand my contradiction. Perhaps a more dramatic angle with increased perspective would enhance the dynamics.
Well done.
As I say in class, this is all very subjective. I hope you find these comments helpful.
